The Cleaning Process

Duct Cleaning And Sanitization

A residential air duct cleaning job takes 1.5 - 2.5 hours to complete.  Our exclusive process is not only highly effecive at removing the build-up of dust, dirt and harmful contaminants from the duct system, but it is also performed in a way that assures that no dust or debris enters your home while it is being removed from the system.

Professional cleaning of the air duct system will have positive results on the overall indoor air quality within the home.  By keeping the air that is recirculated throughout the home clean, it will dramatically reduce the amount of dust and allergens that are being circulated throughout the house.  When the duct system is disinfected, mold, bacteria and fungi are elimintated, even giving the home a better smell!  Other benefits are more airflow and reduced energy costs as well as less house cleaning.

Upon arrival at your home, Double Diamond Duct Cleaning professionals will all main trunk lines (supply and return) and secondary vent lines.  Our method of cleaning employs high powered vacuum and high pressure compressed air (250 psi).Click to Enlarge

  1. The process begins with the connection of a large vacuum hose (8 inch diameter) into the return section of the ductwork.  Usually this requires a re-sealable access panel for which we make no additional charges - it's all part of our cleaning package!

  2. The entire ventillation system is then sealed, covering all supply and return grills to allow for a powerful and concentrated suction.

  3. After sealing, the powerful truck-mounted vacuum is started so that the entire system is put under a negative pressure (suction).  The technician runs an air hose from our truck to the furthest air vent.Click to Enlarge

  4. High pressure air (250 psi) is then forced through each and every return vent and is continued until all return main duct trunk lines are properly cleaned.  We will use a wide array of air cleaning tools, such as air whips, brushes and reverse and forward air flow jetters (air snake) to wash and remove all caked-on dirt, dust and debris from the interior surfaces of all duct lines.  This is followed by the use of a hand-held video monitor or cam snake, to ensure quality cleaning results.

  5. This process is then repeated through the supply section of the ventilation system and continued until all supply vents and main duct trunk lines are properly cleaned.  All contamination is contianed and removed by our powerful truck-mounted vacuum system.*

  6. After the high pressure cleaning treatment (air washing) is completed, our technicians turn their attention to your air conditioning coil and furnace, removing all built-up dust and debris to completely ensure that your entire system is totally dust and dirt free.

  7. All access panels and 1" holes are sealed air-tight upon completion of the cleaning, and the system is returned to its original settings.

*  NOTE: Although the force of the vacuum system and highly compressed air is tremendous, it will not harm or
                    alter the ductwork.
